Keeper of the Moon
Eurynome was the Great Goddess, Mother, Creatrix, Ruler, called the Goddess of All Things. Rising from Chaos, she separated water from sky through her dance of creation. Finding nothing substantial for her feet to rest upon, she danced towards the south, and the wind set in motion behind her seemed something new and apart with which to begin a work of creation. Wheeling about, she caught hold of this north wind, rubbed it between her hands, and the great serpent Ophion appeared. Eurynome danced to warm herself, wildly and more wildly, until Ophion, grown lustful, coiled about those divine limbs and was moved to couple with her.
In this visual rendition, she invokes the element of air, the embodiment of intellect and the power of the mind, the force of intellect, inspiration, imagination. It is ideas, knowledge, dreams and wishes. Air is the element of new life and new possibilities and is essential to spells and rituals of travel, instruction, finding lost items, some types of divination, and freedom.
Hidden images are incorporated for the viewer to discover on her own. The original work was created at an astrologically favorable time with magickally appropriate aspects. It is, in and of itself, a unique and one of a kind work of art which will delight and inspire you for years to come.
